Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to map complex payment flows and architect end-to-end solutions using VGS capabilities. You will lead technical discovery with customers, drive architecture decisions, and deliver diagrams, demos, and PoCs across RFIs and RFPs.

You will collaborate with merchant teams and engineers, ensure PCI DSS compliance, and translate feedback into the product roadmap, while guiding multi-PSP and payment-portability strategies to scale secure payments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in solutions architecture or related technical customer-facing roles.
• Experience with large-scale card or credential migrations.
• Experience with multi-PSP, payment orchestration, processor-routing, or portability strategies.
• Background at merchant, PSP, processor, acquirer, issuer, card network, or payment infra company.
• Knowledge of PCI DSS, data security, privacy, and compliance architecture.
• Proficiency with web services, APIs, and full-stack development.
• Ability to understand how many technologies and systems interact.
• Ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to create clear technical solution diagrams.
• Ability to structure and present sales/executive decks.
• Ability to write production-grade code samples in Python, JavaScript, Java, or Ruby.
• Strong collaboration, interpersonal, negotiation, and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical discovery with customers, Sales, and Account Management to clarify goals, requirements, risks, and gaps.
• Map payment flows across merchants, PSPs, processors, acquirers, networks, wallets, and third parties.
• Architect solutions using VGS capabilities including vaulting, card management, and tokens.
• Guide customers on PCI scope reduction, credential portability, resiliency, and scaling.
• Identify technical and commercial risks early.
• Lead technical strategy for opportunities from discovery through architecture approval and handoff.
• Create and deliver architecture diagrams, proposals, demos, and proofs of concept.
• Lead responses for RFIs, RFPs, security reviews, and architecture assessments.
• Collaborate with customer engineers on APIs, webhooks, data models, and integrations.
• Produce detailed handoffs covering architecture, assumptions, responsibilities, testing, and success metrics.
• Provide technical oversight through launch to ensure implementations match approved architectures.
• Translate customer/market feedback into input for product roadmap and go-to-market strategy.
• Develop reusable reference architectures, demos, integration patterns, and enablement assets.
• Serve as a payments and technology SME in workshops, briefings, and industry events.
