Job summary

Basis Theory is seeking a Payments-focused Senior Solutions Engineer to own technical discovery and solution design for enterprise clients. You will articulate payment architectures, tokenize strategies, and PCI considerations while partnering with AEs to win technical credibility and drive onboarding.

You will lead demos, develop POCs, and influence product direction by surfacing enterprise feedback. A senior, pre-sales, customer-facing role with strong payments expertise.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in a pre-sales SE, solutions architect, or solutions consultant role for enterprise deals.
• Experience supporting enterprise deals with a structured methodology.
• Proven ability to run technical discovery and solution design with enterprise customers and own the technical win.
• Comfortable presenting to CFOs and VP Eng, framing technical narratives for a commercial audience.
• Experience navigating security, compliance, and procurement Review as part of a deal cycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead deep technical discovery with enterprise prospects to understand payment architecture, compliance posture, and integration requirements.
• Collaborate with AEs on deal strategy and translate technical complexity into business value for non-technical buyers.
• Build and run product demos tailored to customer payments workflows.
• Create POCs and integration prototypes that accelerate technical buy-in.
• Design and present solution architectures mapping Basis Theory to customer use cases.
• Guide customers through POC and testing as part of their technical evaluation.
• Voice of enterprise prospects back to Product/Engineering, surfacing friction points and feature gaps.
