Job summary

First Interstate Bank seeks a seasoned leader to head Payments and Operational Strategy, partnering with the COO to shape enterprise strategy across faster payments, card products, ACH, and risk management. You will drive governance, analytics, vendor relationships, and strategic initiatives to improve efficiency and client experiences.

The role requires 10+ years in banking/fin services with strong leadership, strategy, and change management capabilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, operations, technology, or related field.
Master’s degree preferred for higher leadership roles.
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in banking or financial services.

Responsibilities

Develops enterprise strategies and roadmaps for Payments and Payment Fraud Risk Management.
Leads modernization of faster payments, debit/credit cards, ACH, wire transfers, and ATM capabilities.
Establishes governance, policies, controls, metrics and reporting for payment services.
Oversees payment fraud analytics, risk indicators, and incident response.
Partners with COO on enterprise initiatives, automation, and operating model changes.
Drives innovation via new technologies and fintech partnerships.
Ensures compliance, risk controls, and client-focused operational excellence.
