Job summary

Sound Commerce is seeking a Senior Payments Operations Analyst to analyze client transaction data and deliver insights that drive revenue growth. You will collaborate with our CEO, CPO and cross-functional teams to uncover trends, flag anomalies, and optimize gateway, BIN, and merchant configurations.

Your work will help clients improve payment stack performance, reduce revenue leakage, and inform product decisions through ad hoc analyses and dashboards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in payments, data analytics, fintech, ecommerce, or SaaS.
• Proficiency in Python and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
• Strong data storytelling skills — translate numbers into actionable business insights.
• Experience with transaction-level payments data (card authorizations, chargebacks, gateway logs).
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Comfort working directly with leadership and clients.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret large volumes of transaction data from multiple sources and client nuances.
• Collaborate with the CEO to produce clear, actionable insights for clients.
• Identify trends in approval/decline patterns and optimize gateway/BIN routing strategies.
• Detect anomalies indicating fraud, MID or gateway configuration issues, or operational gaps.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses to support client strategies, dashboards, and product decisions.
• Maintain dashboards and reporting tools for ongoing performance monitoring.
