Practice Better, a remote-first healthcare platform, is hiring a Senior Developer for its Payments team to own billing, subscriptions, and payment processing infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable payment features and leverage AI tools to accelerate development.

This is a Canada-focused role with eligibility to work in Canada. You’ll design and scale payment integrations, enforce PCI-DSS standards, and drive reliability and incident response.

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years of relevant experience in full-stack development in a SaaS B2B environment.
• Direct experience integrating with a payment processor (Stripe strongly preferred) and building embedded payment experiences.
• Working knowledge of payment processing fundamentals: PCI compliance, chargebacks and disputes, reconciliation, and fraud/risk basics.
• Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent) in daily development workflow.
• Ability to effectively prompt, guide, and critically evaluate AI-generated code for production readiness.
• Fully capable of taking on substantial features from concept to shipping as a sole engineer.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Aufgaben

• Design, build, and scale our payment processor integrations and payments infrastructure - including retries and reconciliation for our products and services
• Help establish architecture, patterns, and best practices for our payments systems
• Build new user-facing features end-to-end, from database models to APIs to UI components
• Leverage agentic AI development tools to accelerate development velocity while ensuring code quality, security, and architectural integrity
• Investigate payment fraud and disputed-charge incidents, providing input to Legal and Support as needed
• Improve reliability, monitoring, and alerting for payment-critical systems
• Lead incident response - triaging issues in real time and driving them to resolution
• Help ensure PCI-DSS and other compliance standards, working with Information Security & Compliance
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Finance to translate business requirements into shipped features
• Continuously explore and adopt emerging AI-powered development workflows
