Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Optum Advisory – Remote is seeking a Sr. Consultant in Payer Operations. The role focuses on independent workstream delivery, analytics, and client-ready deliverables.

You will lead client communications, identify risks, and provide practical recommendations to improve project outcomes. Remote work is available across the U.S. with in-office requirements in Minneapolis or Washington, D.C.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of healthcare payer operations experience.
• 3+ years across multiple payer lines (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, ACA, Family/Individual).
• 3+ years of data and financial analysis experience.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
• Experience leading client communications and managing workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Structure and lead analyses for assigned workstreams.
• Develop client-ready deliverables including analyses, process docs, current-state and future-state materials, issue summaries and presentations.
• Lead client communications for workstreams and support junior team members' deliverables.
• Set timelines for activities and coach junior staff on timelines and deliverables.
• Contribute to problem solving across the project scope and manage risks.
