UnitedHealth Group's OptumInsight is expanding its payer AI consulting practice. The Senior Director, Innovation and Strategy leads client engagements, builds executive relationships, shapes high-value opportunities, and delivers measurable outcomes across health plans, providers, and payers.

This role supports remote work nationwide with in-office four days per week for Minneapolis or DC area, driving end-to-end delivery and overseeing pipeline, revenue, and client value realization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in management consulting or AI-enabled solutions in healthcare.
• 10+ years of payer-industry expertise across claims, enrollment, utilization management, prior authorization, care management, risk adjustment, quality, or member services.
• 8+ years as an executive engagement leader for multi-workstream programs with client satisfaction and financial accountability.
• 7+ years leading client proposals, SOWs, pricing models, staffing plans, and contracts for engagements >$1M annual value.
• 5+ years deploying advanced analytics, ML, generative AI, or automation in healthcare.
• 5+ years working with commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, or related payer organizations.
• Proven track record with C-suite relationships and high-stakes negotiations.
• Ability to travel up to 40% domestically.

Responsibilities

• Identify, qualify, and develop AI consulting opportunities aligned to business, clinical, operational, technology, and member experiences.
• Lead discovery sessions, executive interviews, and workshops to define client problems and value hypotheses.
• Lead opportunities from qualification through close with proposals, pricing, and negotiations.
• Define engagement outcomes, scope, staffing, governance, and pricing for differentiated solutions.
• Serve as the senior partner for engagements, align stakeholders, lead steering committees, ensure outcomes.
• Mobilize cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results, manage delivery risk, and realize value.
• Manage pipeline, bookings, revenue, margin, and forecasting; develop repeatable offerings and reference architectures.
