Job summary

Spreetail is seeking a Senior Payables Analyst – Freight to join our Accounting team. You will own freight invoice processing, accruals, and reconciliation, partnering with Transportation, Logistics, Treasury, and FP&A to ensure accurate freight costs.

You will lead improvements, manage month-end close, monitor credits, and deliver actionable reporting while collaborating with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This is a remote position.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a business-related field required or preferred.
• 3255+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or related function with GAAP knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with analytics tools; SQL a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and process-improvement mindset in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional process design and continuous improvement to strengthen internal controls and scale with complexity.
• Own month-end close activities and variances analysis; identify process efficiencies.
• Monitor credits and funds owed; partner with Treasury on cash optimization and weekly payments.
• Design and deliver reporting, metrics, and insights to drive issue resolution and better financial outcomes.
• Drive cross-functional issue resolution through clear communication and stakeholder partnerships.

Spreetail is seeking a Senior Payables Analyst – Freight to join our Accounting team, where you will play a critical role in managing and scaling our freight payables operations within a fast-paced, high-growth environment. In this role, you will own key aspects of freight invoice processing, accruals, and reconciliation, partnering closely with Transportation, Logistics, Treasury, and FP&A to ensure accurate, timely recording of freight costs.

How you will achieve success:

• Lead cross-functional process design and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen internal controls and scale with business complexity.

• Own month-end close activities, including financial statement variance analysis, while identifying and executing process efficiencies.

• Monitor credits and funds owed to Spreetail, partnering with Treasury on cash optimization and weekly payment processing.

• Design and deliver reporting, metrics, and insights that drive issue resolution and improve financial outcomes.

• Drive cross-functional issue resolution through clear communication, strong stakeholder partnerships, and a bottom-line mindset.

What experiences will help you in this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field; industry certifications and/or graduate degree preferred.

• 3–5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related business function with working knowledge of GAAP.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (used extensively), with experience leveraging analytics tools; SQL a plus.

• Strong problem-solving and process-improvement mindset, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment.

• Excellent organizational and stakeholder-management skills, able to prioritize competing initiatives and manage multiple projects.

This is a remote position and requires candidates to have an available work-from-home setup.

Desktop/Laptop system requirements:

• 4th generation or higher, at least Intel i3 or equivalent processor;

• at least 4GB RAM;

• Windows 10 and above or MAC OSX operating system;

• You are required to provide your own dual monitors;

• A strong and stable internet connection (A DSL, cable or fiber wired internet service with 10 Mbps plan or higher for primary connection);

• PC Headset;

• A high-definition (HD) external or integrated webcam with at least 720p resolution.
