Job summary

VCUHS is seeking a Senior Patient Safety & Quality Consultant to partner with executive, physician, nursing and ancillary leaders in data-driven strategies to achieve clinical excellence at system and care-site levels. The role leads change management efforts, mentors staff in safety, quality and project management, and drives multi-disciplinary improvement projects from inception through spread.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in healthcare field or currently enrolled in a master’s program.
• Current license in Virginia if candidate holds a professional license.
• Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) preferred; PMP/Lean Six Sigma are also preferred within 1 year to maintain position.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration of safety and quality into the fabric of the organization to achieve care targets.
• Manage improvement projects and multi-disciplinary teams through all phases from inception to implementation and spread.
• Provide formal and just-in-time education on safety and quality improvement methodologies.
• Mentor department and hospital staff in Safety, Quality and Project Management methodologies and tools.
