Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for the Medicine Unit. You will assist nurses with patient care, support the unit’s safety and supplies, and participate in data collection for quality improvement.

The role includes phlebotomy, glucose testing, ECGs, and adherence to infection control standards. The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, PCT/CNA pathway experience, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduates of PCT or CNA programs with related coursework have priority.
• PCT online program must be completed within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the nurse in patient and family care with safety and compassion.
• Maintain supplies, equipment and unit environment for safety.
• Contribute data for Quality Improvement and patient satisfaction.
• Assist in admission, transfer and discharge procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy, fingersticks for glucose, and ECGs as assigned.
• Adhere to infection prevention standards and unit safety protocols.
• Communicate with patients, families and health care team effectively.
