Job summary

NYU Langone Health in New York, NY, seeks a Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for the 11 East Medicine Unit on Day Shift (37.5 hours). The role supports licensed staff by performing assigned patient care tasks and ensuring safe, compassionate care in a busy hospital setting.

The successful candidate will assist with phlebotomy, glucose testing, ECGs, and data collection for unit quality programs, while upholding core values and patient confidentiality in teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program with at least 6 months hospital experience OR CNA graduate with EKG & Phlebotomy coursework and PCT certification eligible plus 6 months hospital experience.
• PCT Certification through NHA with at least 6 months hospital experience is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates NYU Langone Health Core Values in duties.
• Assists in data collection for Quality and Performance Improvement.
• Assists the nurse with patient/family communication and satisfaction.
• Performs phlebotomy, fingersticks for glucose, and electrocardiograms as assigned.
• Maintains unit cleanliness and safety, supports admission, transfer and discharge procedures.
