Job summary

NYU Langone Health is hiring a Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for the KP 12 Surgical Transplant unit (Evening Shift, 37.5 hours). The role supports licensed nurses by performing assigned patient care tasks, maintaining a safe and respectful environment, and assisting with admissions, transfers and discharge procedures as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program with at least 6 months hospital experience OR CNA graduate with EKG & Phlebotomy training and PCT certification eligibility with at least 6 months hospital experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required (AHA). Must complete PCT online program within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the professional nurse in patient care and safety.
• Support unit operations, including supplies, equipment and environment.
• Contribute to Quality and Performance Improvement data collection and patient satisfaction efforts.
• Respond to patient requests, assist with personal care, and communicate with the nurse and health care team.
• Maintain infection prevention standards and ensure patient comfort and safety.
