Inova Health System is seeking a dedicated Patient Access Specialist Sr to join the OBGYN team at Fair Oaks. This full-time role offers day shifts Monday through Friday and focuses on accurate patient registration, financial counseling, and coordinating insurance and scheduling tasks.

You will audit records, support escalations, assist with referrals, and help patients navigate the system with empathy while ensuring HIPAA compliance and smooth workflow for the clinic.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of patient access experience.

Responsibilities

• Audits records and documentation for accuracy, troubleshoots discrepancies, and supports escalations.
• Compiles reports, troubleshoots system issues, and supports peers.
• Audits referrals and supports escalations.
• Conducts financial reviews and mentors staff.
• Troubleshoots complex cases and educates peers on insurance contract nuances.
• Handles escalations and analyzes trends.
• Analyzes performance and trains staff on patient kiosks.
• Handles sensitive concerns, audits logs, and advocates for patient needs.
• Audits referral workflows and mentors staff.
• Schedules surgeries and verifies readiness.
• Solves transport issues and audits logs.
• Liaises with Health Information Management (HIM) on merges and audits MRNs.
• Supports escalations for medical necessity.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other applicable federal and state regulations.
