Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; an Associates degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of healthcare customer service or revenue cycle experience.
• Certifications: CHAM, CHAA, or Medical Assistant preferred.
• Proficient with Windows applications and data entry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to patients, guests, family members and employees and effectively communicating with patients throughout their medical experience.
• Performs daily operations activities such as: ensures accurate and timely collection of all data and required forms necessary for processing of charges/claims and the receipt and processing of payments owed to the company.
• Explains insurance benefits and collects co-pays, deductibles and self-pay portions due, and informs patient of financial responsibility.
• Researches and resolves issues impeding patient registration and works with team on quality assurance scores to improve accuracy.
• Researches and resolves complaints regarding customer service, registration, authorization or scheduling.
• Monitors and maintains productivity and accuracy: meets department goals and tracks activity records.
• Adapts communication style to patient population while respecting privacy.
