Job summary

Biogen in Durham, NC is seeking a Senior Case Manager in Patient Services to facilitate access to therapies and ensure regulatory compliance. You will liaise with patients, healthcare providers, and partners, guiding cases from initiation to closure with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.

Your role includes advising on reimbursement processes, conducting benefits research, and maintaining adherence to SOPs while traveling up to 20% to support operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of customer service, patient services, case management, or related experience in a healthcare environment.
• Proficient in reimbursement processes including benefit investigations and payer policies.
• Strong knowledge of the managed care industry, including government payers.
• Demonstrated investigational and analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient support and education.
• Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
• Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.
• High school degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with patients and healthcare providers through proactive communication and timely execution of deliverables.
• Leverage understanding of program services to align support with patient needs.
• Deliver personalized case management with inbound/outbound communication about non-clinical access challenges.
• Provide reimbursement support including benefit investigations and program determination.
• Conduct benefits, coverage, and payer research to ensure compliance with policies and timelines.
• Adhere to SOPs and departmental guidelines.
• Travel up to 20% to support program operations.
• Meet and exceed performance metrics and quality standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
