Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Senior Patient Access Representative to join the patient registration team in Norfolk, VA. The role involves registering patients across ED and other areas, serving as a system super-user, and supporting leadership with QA audits, training, and on-call coverage.

The position offers on-site work with rotating shifts, potential promotional opportunities to Team Coordinator, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• HS - High School Grad or Equivalent licensing or certification/licensure.
• No specific certification or licensure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Registering patients for the Emergency Department, and/or various registration areas of the hospital.
• Assist the Team Coordinator and department leadership by serving as registration system super-user.
• Taking on-call rotation during the week and on the weekends, participating in the interviewing process, preparing and reviewing reports, performing QA audits, mentoring and training staff, managing department supply levels, and participating in meetings and workgroups.
• Meet the written requirements and competency to serve as a preceptor and to provide department orientation.
• Promotional opportunities in Patient Access such as a Team Coordinator.
