Job summary

Med-Metrix seeks a Senior Patient Access Representative to greet, schedule, register, and verify patients in a courteous and professional manner. Hours include every other Saturday/Sunday 3:00-11:30 PM, with duties spanning insurance verifications, data entry, and PHI handling.

The role requires high school diploma, healthcare clerical experience, solid Microsoft Office skills, and strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of office/clerical experience in Healthcare.
• Ability to understand/interpret documented clinical information and relay pertinent information to the insurance company.
• Exemplary customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Answer and route telephone calls and messages
• Coordinate insurance verifications and pre-authorizations
• Maintain medical records and prepare charts/paperwork
• Work with insurers to obtain/verify pre-certifications/authorizations
• Enter and update patient data and other data into the system
• Patient intake; insurance verification, copays, and demographics confirmation
• Maintain authorization logs and related documentation
• Understand HIPAA policies and protect PHI
• Provide assistance to hospital staff as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
