Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Senior Patient Access Representative to manage financial aspects of patient care, including counseling, billing, and collections. The role requires coordination with patients, families, physicians, nurses, insurers, and third-party payers to ensure accurate and timely reimbursements.

The candidate will also support compliance with federal regulations and hospital standards and assist in escalated patient account issues under supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience preferred in patient access or similar roles.

Responsibilities

• Process insurance claims to third party payors electronically and on paper.
• Follow up on unpaid claims to resolution.
• Evaluate accounts for adjustments, charity, or bad debt.
• Collect balances due from patients via calls, statements, or mail.
• Respond to inquiries from patients, guarantors, and insurers.
• Compile data and report results to management.
• Support compliance with state and federal regulations and hospital standards.
• Assist managers with write-offs, adjustments, and training.
