The position requires a Bachelor's in Clinical Pathology or a Master's in Pathologists' Assistant, 2–3 years of experience (5+ preferred), and the ability to lift up to 20

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Pathology required or Master's degree in Pathologists' Assistant preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience required; 5+ years preferred.
• Knowledge of human anatomy, tumor staging, and medical terminology.
• Ability to make independent, effective decisions and to lift up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and coordinates the workflow for clinical case processing and maintains tissue banking logs.
• Ensures research tissue is procured in a timely manner without compromising patient diagnosis or care.
• Provides instruction to pathology residents, PA students, and medical students on gross description, dissection, and sampling of surgical pathology specimens, including frozen sections.
• Recommends and implements policies to maintain laboratory quality, efficiency, and safety.
• Follows guidelines when fulfilling requests for specimen acquisition for clinical studies, teaching, and research.
• Assists staff with preparing case materials and photographic documentation for conferences and studies.
