Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Pathologists' Assistant to perform gross description and dissection of surgical specimens, and to submit tissue for microscopic examination. The role includes mentoring residents and students in gross techniques and sampling, as well as assisting with tissue collection for research and banking.

Applicants should have a Master's Degree in Pathologists' Assistant, 1–2 years of related experience, and ASCP credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Dictates gross description and dissection of surgical specimens.
• Selects and submits tissue sections for microscopic exam.

• Assists in collecting tissue for controls, teaching, research and banking.
• Oversees specimen storage and records, disposal as needed.
• Ensures proper authorization for postmortem examinations.
