Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV seeks a physician in the Diagnostics Service to provide support to the Laboratory Services and deliver anatomical and clinical diagnostic information to providers. The Laboratory Service includes Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology; duties include quality assurance, interpretation of surgical specimens, cytology, gross description, autopsy work, and participation in hospital committees.

Qualifications

• Must meet VA basic requirements and any additional job requirements.
• VA physicians meeting prior requirements may be considered.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English required.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks as assigned by the Department of Laboratory Services.
• Attend FNA and renal biopsy procedures to assess sample adequacy.
• Maintain JC and CAP accreditation and ensure quality standards.
• Describe gross pathology specimens and report findings in SNOMED coding.
• Perform cytology duties and participate in autopsy work when indicated.
• Provide 24-hour call coverage for Anatomic and Clinical Pathology needs.
• Work schedule: 8am–4:30pm, Monday–Friday.
