Job summary

BCG Attorney Search invites a Patent Agent to join its Intellectual Property & Technology practice in Short Hills, NJ. The successful candidate will draft and prosecute US patents, advise on disclosures and strategy, and support cross-functional clients with technology-driven IP needs.

Required: 5+ years as a patent agent, USPTO registration, and a strong technical background in EE or CS. Software patents experience is valued; education in engineering or computer science is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a patent agent at a law firm or in-house.
• Registered to practice before the USPTO.
• Experience with software patents is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Harvest inventions directly from clients.
• Advise on invention disclosures, patent strategy, and prosecution.
• Evaluate cutting-edge technology for patentability.
• Draft and prosecute US patent applications.
• Guide prosecution of foreign patent applications.
• Contribute to opinion work and client counseling.
• Support litigation efforts.
• Provide technical support across the practice.
