Job summary

BCG Attorney Search seeks a Patent Agent to join its Intellectual Property & Technology practice in New York, NY. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, with at least five years of experience in patent drafting and prosecution.

The role involves drafting and prosecuting US patent applications, advising on invention disclosures and strategy, and supporting both domestic and foreign prosecution. A USPTO registration is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as a patent agent at a law firm or in-house.
• Experience with software patents is a plus.
• Must be registered to practice before the USPTO.

Responsibilities

• Harvest inventions directly from clients.
• Advise clients on invention disclosures, patent strategy, and prosecution.
• Draft and prosecute US patent applications.
• Guide prosecution of foreign patent applications.
• Contribute to opinion work and client counseling.
• Support litigation efforts.
• Provide technical support across the practice.
