Job summary

Bilt Rewards seeks a Forward-Deployed Engineer to partner with customer engineering teams and implement robust API integrations on the Bilt platform. You will write production Java code, design integration patterns, and own the end-to-end lifecycle from discovery to go-live.

You will use AI-powered tools to accelerate development, document APIs, and troubleshoot complex multi-system issues in real time. Collaboration with product, engineering, and partnerships is essential.

Qualifications

• 4–5+ years in software engineering or related hands-on partner-facing roles.
• Strong Java proficiency with Spring Boot and REST; API design experience.
• Deep API fluency: REST, webhooks, OAuth, and third-party integrations.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• CI/CD, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code familiarity.
• Bonus: fintech/payments experience or loyalty/subscription platforms.

Responsibilities

• Embed with partner teams to design and implement API integrations.
• Write production Java code, SDKs, and integration samples.
• Own the full integration lifecycle from discovery to go-live.
• Debug cross-system issues in real time with partner engineers.
• Translate requirements into API contracts and technical specs.
• Create developer resources: docs, Postman collections, samples.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate prototyping and documentation.
• Advocate for API improvements and align with product roadmaps.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, sales, and partnerships.
