Job summary

Forest Preserve District of Cook County is seeking a Senior Paralegal to support supervising attorneys with advanced legal tasks and supervision of a Paralegal. Responsibilities include summarizing documents, conducting research, preparing reports, and assisting with trial preparation at the Cook County location.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of paralegal experience (or equivalent education pathway) and strong written and oral communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a paralegal-related field with 7+ years of experience, or
• ABA-approved paralegal program with 10+ years of experience, or
• HS diploma with 12+ years of paralegal experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with contract signature processes and status updates.
• Serve as point of contact for contract and case status, documentation requirements, and admin processes.
• Develop and improve processes, templates, and organizational systems.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical and legal standards.
• Assist in trial prep, legal research, client interviews, discovery, and motions.
• Research and prepare legal memos and briefs; analyze case issues and documents.
