Job summary

Lawyers for Justice, P.C.® in Chicago seeks a seasoned paralegal to assist attorneys with clerical and research support, including document prep, client and witness interviews, discovery responses, deposition prep, travel arrangements, expense reporting and trial preparation. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, responsible, and committed to serving clients.

Requires Bachelor's degree (preferred), Paralegal Certificate, and at least 5 years of experience; compensation is $30-$40 per

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Paralegal Certificate is desired.
• Minimum 5 years experience (preferred).
• Excellent verbal and written communication; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Meet with attorneys, clients, and professionals to discuss cases.
• Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, and interrogatories; file documents accordingly.
• Research statutes, regulations, and cases; provide written analysis.
• Interview clients and witnesses; summarize statements.
• Organize, file, and retrieve case documents and evidence.
• Assist with trial prep, attend trials/hearings.
• Track billable hours by case; maintain records.
• Enter and cross-reference documents in a database.
• Prepare discovery requests and responses.
• Support senior counsel with special projects as needed.
