Job summary

The Forest Preserve District of Cook County is seeking a Senior Paralegal to provide advanced legal support to attorneys and oversee a Paralegal. Responsibilities include summarizing legal documents, conducting research, and preparing reports and correspondence.

The role requires strong written and oral communication and the ability to work with multiple online legal resources. Ideal candidates will have substantial paralegal experience, familiarity with court filing systems, and the ability to

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field and at least 7 years of full-time paralegal experience
• Or an ABA-approved paralegal certificate with at least 10 years of full-time paralegal experience
• Or a high school diploma/GED with at least 12 years of paralegal experience

Responsibilities

• Summarize legal documents and perform records and legal research
• Coordinate research, prepare reports and correspondence
• Provide advanced legal support to attorneys and supervise a Paralegal
• Assist with contract signature process and status monitoring
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with standards
• Assist in trial preparation, discovery, and writing memos and briefs
• Use online filing systems across multiple courts
• Guide and train supervised Paralegal on procedures and priorities
