Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking a Senior Paralegal to join our Legal team in Jackson, MS. The role focuses on providing litigation support, including legal research, drafting, and administrative tasks for multiple attorneys within a federal government context.

Responsibilities include preparing motions and other filings for post-judgment debt collection, interviewing stakeholders, and analyzing debtor information to guide enforcement actions.

Qualifications

• Two-year paralegal degree or a four-year degree with an additional paralegal certificate.
• Experience with tracing assets, seizing assets, enforcing judgment liens.
• Proficiency in word processing applications.
• Accounting background preferred and familiarity with online legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare substantive legal documents such as motions and other filings for post-judgment debt collection actions.
• Interview debtors, employers, and agency officials to assess effectiveness of legal actions.
• Monitor and analyze credit information and summarize debtor financial information for action decisions.
• Research and summarize legal precedents, prepare digests, and process debt collection claims.
• Track case progress and ensure filings and reports are submitted by deadlines.
