Job summary

Tuition reimbursement is provided for Relativity certifications, ACEDS, and Paralegal Certificates, with up to 10% travel and DOJ MBI clearance possible.

Qualifications

• Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study, or an equivalent level of legal training or experience; or an equivalent level of education may be substituted.
• Additionally at least two years of litigation paralegal experience or project experience (as related to the task order) is required.
• At least one year of experience in automated litigation support.
• Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court system, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.

Responsibilities

• Provides a variety of legal assistance and technical work requiring a specialized knowledge of processes, procedures, and practices to support legal activities.
• Supports assignments of this nature involve form, content and issues of legal instruments and documents, processing, storing, and retrieving legal actions and information pertaining to USAO activities.
• Serves as contact person for assigned cases and provides information and assistance concerning status or relevant procedural issues.
• Compiles, organizes, and indexes discovery and evidence exhibits for trial, working with assigned attorney(s) to ensure material is efficiently arranged.
• Provides technical assistance to attorneys with e-discovery platforms and document review systems.
• Produces and provides to the attorney the appropriate legal documents, information, exhibits, or witnesses at the appropriate time during those court proceedings.
• Prepares and coordinates exhibits for trial, including charts, diagrams, photographs, and models.
• Maintains case files and related material; updates databases to track receipts, deadlines, and status; notifies proper client agency of service and obtains litigation reports.
• Answers inquiries and assists with routine information; uses judgment in providing information.
