Job summary

Ventura Unified School District is seeking a Paraeducator II to support students with special needs under supervision. The role involves assisting with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports, monitoring progress, and working with teachers to implement IEP goals.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or higher, plus college coursework or degree. Relevant training in NCPI, ABA, PBIS and First Aid/CPR is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Completion of at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (48 semester units) or an Associate degree.
• If education requirements are not met, competency exam demonstrates reading/writing/mathematics ability.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing academic, behavior and social-emotional supports to students.
• Monitor and report student progress according to state standards and IEPs.
• Provide cognitive instructional, therapeutic, and/or medical support to students with disabilities.
• Support across general and special education programs as needed.
