Job summary

Monterey County Office Of Education is seeking a Paraeducator (Buena Vista Middle) to support teachers and students in special education moderate/severe programs and in mainstream classrooms.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent), 48 college units or higher, or an associate degree. CA driver’s license, first aid, CPR, and sign-language/ Deaf-HH tests timing are specified. Full-time, 183 days/year, 6.5 hours daily.

Qualifications

• Education as required by ESSA: HS diploma or equivalent and 48 sem. units or higher degree.
• Experience with school-age children or students with disabilities is preferred.
• Licenses: CA Driver's License; First Aid; CPR; Deaf/HOH tests within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in instructional activities for students in special education or mainstream classes.
• Support students and implement behavioral plans under supervision.
• Maintain documentation and coordinate with staff as needed.
