Job summary

University of Utah Health seeks a PACS Admin to support enterprise imaging and clinical applications across hospital systems. The role focuses on configuring PACS, RIS, VNA, and AI integrations to enhance radiology workflows.

The position requires strong DICOM/HL7 expertise, experience with cloud architecture and security, and leadership in multi-site deployments. Collaboration with IT and clinical teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Clinical field or equivalent.
• Experience configuring and integrating enterprise PACS, RIS (Epic experience or certification), VNA, and voice recognition platforms like PowerScribe One.
• Proficiency in DICOM syntax, HL7 messaging (ADT, ORM, ORU), MWL management, and DICOM router configuration (Dicom Systems Unifier, etc).
• Experience implementing AI diagnostic tools (Aidoc, Viz.ai, Lunit) and integrating results into PACS interfaces.
• Knowledge of RESTful standards (WADO-RS, STOW-RS, QIDO-RS) and HL7 FHIR for mobile/EHR viewing.
• Hybrid or cloud-native Enterprise Imaging architectures (AWS/Azure) with cloud VNA storage tiering.
• Advanced scripting for automating DICOM tag morphing and data cleansing.
• Familiarity with medical device cybersecurity and network segmentation.
• Experience leading PACS upgrades, multi-site rollouts, disaster recovery planning.
• Certifications: CIIP, ARRT, Epic Radiant/Cupid, vendor credentials.

Responsibilities

• Participates in meetings to discuss team and project activities and updates.
• Performs system builds and testing for software lifecycle activities with quality outcomes.
• Resolves incidents and work orders within SLA timelines and complete tasks on time.
• Maintains and creates documentation as needed.
• Acts as a resource to end users and team members on application usage and workflows.
• Executes and updates test scripts including unit and integrated tests.
• Collaborates with training staff to develop training materials and guide implementation.
• Researches new feature requests and participates in stakeholder reviews and documentation.
