Job summary

Amrize seeks a Senior Packaging and Material Handling Engineer to optimize packaging and material handling processes across multiple sites. You will lead trials, conduct capability analyses, and apply lean principles to improve safety, product quality, consistency, cost, efficiency, throughput, and labor utilization in Amrize facilities.

You will collaborate with R&D to develop packaging specifications, perform time studies, and drive continuous improvement in cost, safety, and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• Field of Study Preferred: Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Packaging Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering or plant manufacturing with focus on packaging and material handling.
• Experience with packing types such as plastic pails, metal buckets, 55 gallon drums, cartridges and liners.

Responsibilities

• Transition new packaging and material handling processes through manufacturing process development and equipment operation with cross-functional collaboration.
• Conduct trials, studies and capability analyses to improve packaging and material handling capabilities.
• Apply statistical methodologies to reduce process variation.
• Use Value Stream Mapping to analyze and manage material flow through plants.
• Support CAPEX by partnering with project engineering on packaging and material handling projects.
• Lead kaikaku events and support kaizen in packaging and material handling.
• Analyze production performance and implement improvements to reduce costs in packaging and material handling.
• Develop packaging specifications with R&D to meet customer and industry requirements.
• Conduct time studies to optimize machine and labor utilization.
