Job summary

Berkeley County Development Authority in Martinsburg, WV, seeks an experienced maintenance technician to install, service, and repair packaging and finishing equipment in a fast-paced plant environment.

You will read mechanical drawings and OEM manuals, troubleshoot electrical systems with a multimeter, and perform preventative maintenance on form/fill/seal lines and related machinery, ensuring reliability and safety in an FDA-regulated setting.

Qualifications

• High School/GED with technical college or a 5+ year apprenticeship in mechanical/industrial maintenance.
• 5+ years maintaining automated production or packaging machinery.
• Experience with form/fill/seal, filling and sealing equipment.
• Able to read mechanical drawings and OEM manuals.
• Experience in FDA-regulated, cGMP plant preferred.
• Lockout/tagout trained; forklift or scissor lift a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair packaging and finishing equipment.
• Set and verify machine parameters before a run.
• Diagnose root causes for inconsistent seals.
• Replace wear parts on schedule.
• Align, level, and time mechanical assemblies; maintain pneumatic circuits.
• Support plant mechanical assets when packaging runs.
• Perform preventative maintenance per PM schedule.
• Fabricate/modify simple parts; light welding.
• Verify repairs with instruments and record readings.
