Job summary

Capitol Distributing seeks a Food Plant Maintenance Technician to safely maintain and repair packaging equipment, manage PM and spare parts inventory, and ensure food safety and HACCP compliance. Role involves working with power conveyors, flow wrappers, labelers, metal detectors, and integration with multiple departments.

You will report to the Food Plant Manager, operate with minimal supervision, and uphold safety standards while driving continuous improvement and proper documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in food packaging equipment repair/maintenance.
• Experience with packaging equipment like flow wrappers preferred.
• Technical school education optional but beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to other departments.
• Maintain and repair packaging equipment and ensure safe operation.
• Oversee preventative maintenance program and inventory of parts.
• Log time, materials, and costs; interpret manuals and specs.
• Support HACCP compliance and safety initiatives.
• Communicate maintenance status to supervisors and leadership.
