amika is seeking a Senior Manager, Packaging Development & Engineering in Brooklyn, NY to lead and grow the packaging development engineering team. The role focuses on guiding technical strategy, mentoring engineers, and ensuring successful packaging from concept through commercialization.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong packaging engineering background, expertise in materials and tooling, and proven leadership in fast-paced consumer products environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in packaging engineering, packaging science, mechanical engineering, or related technical discipline preferred.
• 6+ years of progressive packaging development and engineering experience in beauty, personal care, consumer products.
• Hands-on packaging engineering background with ability to solve complex technical and manufacturing challenges.
• Experience leading or managing packaging engineers or other technical professionals.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, component design, tooling, processes, tolerances, testing, qualification and commercialization.

Responsabilités

• Lead packaging development projects from concept through commercialization.
• Mentor, develop, and provide day-to-day leadership to packaging engineers.
• Serve as senior technical resource for complex packaging development, engineering, manufacturing, and quality challenges.
• Drive supplier engagement, sampling, testing, trials, and production start-ups.
• Develop packaging solutions balancing design intent, manufacturability, cost, sustainability, and timing.
• Provide hands-on engineering expertise in component design, materials, tooling, and qualification.
• Review and approve packaging specifications, drawings, BOMs, tolerances, and standards.
• Lead root-cause investigations and drive corrective actions.
• Oversee testing and qualification requirements for packaging.
