Job summary

Utz is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer to lead packaging development and act as the technical authority across brands. You will guide design, performance testing, and collaboration with manufacturing, procurement, and QA teams.

You will drive packaging innovations from ideation to production, manage new item development, and provide cost estimates while focusing on sustainability and efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science or related field is required.
• 5–7 years of experience in consumer-packaged goods; food/bev preferred.
• Knowledge of packaging forms: corrugated, PET, paperboard, films.

Responsibilities

• Lead packaging development from concept to first production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to commercialize packaging innovations.
• Manage new item development including packaging, sourcing, and pricing.
• Develop packaging specs, load-out, and cost estimates with procurement.
• Support packaging automation, sustainability, and downtime reduction.
• Troubleshoot packaging defects with manufacturing and supplier teams.
