Job summary

Utz Brands, Inc. is seeking a Director of Packaging R&D to lead the packaging department, guide development from concept to commercialization, and build capabilities to sustain growth across our snack portfolio.

You’ll manage a team of junior packaging developers, partner with Procurement, Manufacturing and Brand teams, and drive innovative packaging solutions while maintaining quality and compliance across all Utz brands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Packaging Science or Materials/Design related degree or equivalent.
• 10–15 years packaging development experience in consumer packaged goods.
• Experience leading a packaging team and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
• Knowledge of packaging forms including corrugated, PET, paperboard, and flexible films.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise packaging department operations.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to advance packaging initiatives.
• Manage direct reports and ensure timely project delivery.
• Develop packaging specs and supplier relationships.
• Drive innovation, sustainability, and compliance across packaging programs.
• Own select projects and oversee new item development.
