Utz, a leading snack company with a century of heritage and brands like Utz®, Zapp's®, Boulder Canyon®, and On The Border®, is seeking a Sr. Packaging Engineer.

You will lead packaging development, design, specs, and performance across multiple brands and serve as the technical authority for the packaging engineering team. Expect collaboration with manufacturing, procurement, and product teams to drive packaging innovations and cost efficiencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science or Materials/Design related field or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years’ experience in consumer-packaged goods; food and beverage preferred.
• Knowledgeable in a wide range of packaging forms (corrugated, PET, paperboard, films).
• Demonstrated leadership and team-building competencies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead packaging development, specs, design and performance across multiple brands.
• Serve as customer-facing technical expert for packaging portfolio.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to commercialize packaging innovations.
• Manage new item development including packaging, sourcing and pricing.
• Develop packaging validation and test results interpretation for compliance.
• Support sustainability initiatives and cost optimization.
