Stanley Black & Decker’s Towson, MD campus is seeking a Packaging Engineer for a hybrid role. You’ll work with global packaging teams and suppliers to design packaging that meets quality and cost targets, in a hands-on consumer goods environment.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Packaging Engineering and 3–5 years in packaging design or structural engineering, with proficiency in ArtiosCAD, SolidWorks, TOPS/Cape, and related tools. This role offers hybrid work with on-site days in Towson, MD.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in Packaging Engineering is required.
• 3–5 years experience as packaging engineer/designer/structural engineer in consumer goods.
• Passion for packaging design.
• Experience with manufacturing processes: printing, die-cutting, thermoforming, injection and blow molding.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials (corrugated, paperboard, plastic).
• Experience with Kongsberg Table and related CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Work with global packaging team and suppliers to develop packaging requirements, material specifications, and project priorities.
• Create/optimize packaging structures to maximize quality/cost based on regionally available materials and qualify through testing.
• Coordinate specifications, labeling, and approvals of all packaging structures.
• Troubleshoot problems with current product packaging.
• Create prototypes for customer line reviews and sales pitches with major retailers.
• Design, innovate, and execute sustainable packaging solutions.
