Job summary

Sonos is seeking a Packaging Experience Designer to lead three‑dimensional packaging design for premium products. You will shape the unboxing experience from box architecture to mass production, collaborating with packaging engineering, sourcing, and suppliers.

The role requires 5+ years in industrial or packaging design, a strong 3D CAD portfolio, and hands‑on prototyping skills. Hybrid work with 3 days in-office per week in Goleta, CA is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Packaging, or related design discipline.
• 5+ years in industrial design, structural packaging, or product development for premium consumer products.
• Strong portfolio showing 3D design thinking, sketching and physical execution.
• Fluency in 3D CAD (NX, Rhino, SolidWorks) and Illustrator for dielines.
• Hands-on model making and prototyping skills.

Responsibilities

• Own structural and 3D packaging design for assigned programs, from box architecture to retention components.
• Develop concepts through sketching, CAD, and physical models for unboxing experience.
• Produce dielines, 3D models, and documentation for fabrication.
• Manage programs from concept to production release with rigorous design intent.
• Build models/prototypes and validate fit with real product; drive issues to resolution.
• Act as liaison with packaging eng, sourcing, suppliers, and converters.
