Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking a Senior Packaging Design Engineer who reports to the VP of Technology for Transmission and Distribution Infrastructure.

You will lead the packaging design shared service for our Transmission and Distribution products in the Electric Utility market, executing packaging design and procedures for product development with BU engineering teams and coordinating with operations packaging on implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering and/or HV engineering.
• 5–10 years of packaging design experience.
• Proficient in CAD/packaging tools such as SolidWorks or Autodesk.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% and lift 50 lbs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Primary focus is Electric Utility equipment within Transmission and Distribution.
• Execute packaging CAD, testing and evaluation for new product development.
• Perform design for cost, reliability, performance, recyclability and environmental analysis.
• Develop and implement packaging design procedures and align with Hubbell leadership.
• Identify packaging savings opportunities and train engineers on designs.
