Hubbell Incorporated is seeking a Senior Protection Engineer – Distribution to lead the design, testing, and commissioning of protection, automation, and control solutions for distribution substations, feeders, and DER interconnections. Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of electric utility experience in Substation/Distribution P&C.
• Proficiency in feeder and transformer protection.
• FLISR/loop schemes working with reclosers, switches & sectionalizers.
• Field service and commissioning.
• Experience with AutoCAD and other P&C software used for planning/coordination of protective devices is a plus.
• Exceptional communication skills (written/verbal/presentation/relationship building).
• Exceptional organizational, planning and time management skills.
• Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office suite products.
• Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to work with and without direct supervision and to supervise others.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop protection, automation, and control solutions for distribution substation and feeder applications.
• Lead product approval processes with electric utility customers via demonstrations, testing, pilot installations and training.
• Develop Customer Requirement Documents (CRDs) based on VOC and lead technical development.
• Present technical papers at industry conferences to reinforce technical credibility.
• Provide expert support for application, installation, and maintenance of protection products.
• Support sales with technical presentations, proposals, and RFQ responses for strategic accounts.
• Act as a SME for sales and customer engagements and lead product commercialization efforts.
