Job summary

Qualus in Chattanooga seeks a Senior Protection & Control Engineer with 7+ years of experience in major utility substations. You will lead protective relaying design, SCADA integration, and client engagements.

You will coordinate with Substation Physical Engineering and Relay Settings, develop complete engineering design packages, supervise QA/QC, and mentor junior engineers while building trusted client relationships.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of electrical engineering experience in protection and control.
• PE registration or plan to become registered is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; MS considered in lieu of BS.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Substation Physical Engineering, Relay Settings and other groups for design concurrence.
• Develop complete design packages for protective relaying and communications, including diagrams and BOMs.
• Develop SCADA packages and input/output lists.
• Provide technical direction to drafters and technicians.
• Present technical solutions to customers and respond to questions clearly.
• Lead client meetings and site visits to collect or deliver data.
• Ensure QA/QC processes are followed on all design packages.
• Delegate, plan, prioritize and review the work of other engineers.
