Job summary

National Grid is seeking a Senior Supervisor for the Electric Overhead Department in Hopedale, Marlboro, Attleboro or Somerset, MA. This 100% on-site role leads field personnel to ensure safe, reliable overhead distribution operations and regulatory compliance.

You will coordinate emergencies, manage scheduling, review purchasing and payroll, and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to deliver against service levels while promoting best practices and training within the department.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of Distribution Overhead Line experience required.
• Ability to read, interpret, and translate overhead and UG one-line diagrams.
• Respond to Overhead, Underground and Sub Station outages.
• Develop SOPs for field personnel operating energized facilities.
• Knowledge of work management, financial reporting and performance tracking systems.
• Familiarity with National Grid policies and processes for overhead operations.
• Ability to build effective working relationships and lead a diverse team.
• Ability to cover off-hour emergencies and make sound decisions.
• Valid driver’s license with Safe Driver history; CDL preferred and obtainable if needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a culturally diverse workforce and coach teams to complete tasks efficiently.
• Oversee overhead electric workload to meet work plans within budget.
• Manage employee scheduling within the department.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, policies, and processes.
• Review and approve area purchase orders, invoices, and payroll activities.
• Execute tasks in compliance with policy, federal and state regulations.
• Build relationships with internal/external customers and deliver solutions.
• Monitor staff performance and address sickness, discipline, and quality issues.
• Serve as first point of contact for stakeholders and agencies to meet SLAs.
• Promote overhead best practices to maximize productivity and control costs.
• Oversee department training and compliance.
