Job summary

GFiber is seeking a Senior Outside Plant Maintenance Technician to install, repair and maintain the distribution network. You will diagnose service issues from the central office to customer premises equipment and support partner techs in the field, ensuring continuous, high-quality fiber services.

Ideal candidates have 5 years FTTH/GPON experience, 3 years fiber splicing, vendor management, and strong knowledge of copper/fiber infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience in FTTH/GPON network construction and/or fiber deployments.
• 3 years fiber splicing experience with OTDR and Power Meter testing.
• 3 years managing relationships with contractors and vendors of varying types and sizes.
• Experience with physical layer components of networking infrastructure (copper cabling, patch panels, fiber, etc).
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs of equipment.
• Ability to pass a motor vehicle record check.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve service-impacting issues from central office to customer premise equipment.
• Install, test, and maintain aerial and underground cable plant and network devices.
• Troubleshoot inside wiring and power systems, and support vendor partners in OSP deployments.
• Collaborate with field teams and customers to ensure reliable fiber services.
• Perform non-standard scheduling and on-call duties as needed.
