Job summary

GFiber, an Alphabet company, is seeking a Senior Outside Plant (OSP) Maintenance Technician to install, repair and maintain the GFiber physical plant in the distribution network. You will diagnose service-impacting issues from central office to customer premises and support vendor partners in OSP deployment.

Candidates should have FTTH/GPON experience, fiber splicing, contractor management, a valid driver's license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and willingness to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in FTTH/GPON network construction and/or fiber network deployments.
• 3+ years of fiber splicing experience for termination and midspan use cases; OTDR and Power Meter testing.
• 3+ years of managing relationships with contractors and vendors.
• Experience with physical layer components: twisted pair, patch panels, fiber, etc.
• Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Install, restore, or maintain aerial and underground cable plant.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues from central office to customer premise equipment.
• Repair and maintain outside plant (OSP) network infrastructure and related devices.
• Collaborate with vendor partners to develop OSP installation/maintenance expertise.
