Job summary

Astreya is hiring an Outside Plant Engineer III in Denver, CO. You will design and review OSP designs, plan cuts, and support field crews during turn-ups and migrations. Your role includes troubleshooting tests and ensuring accurate as-built records.

You will mentor junior engineers, contribute to SOPs, and drive process improvements across the team, with a focus on reliable, scalable OSP deployment in large-scale data center environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in OSP fiber operations or OSP engineering within data center or telecom infrastructure environments.
• OSP engineering background required; read, interpret, and validate designs, splice matrices, and construction drawings at senior level.
• Hands-on splicing experience (fusion, mechanical) and strong knowledge of fiber cable types, splice closures, patch panels, and cross-connect fields.
• Ownership of splice matrices, cut sheets, and cut plans in live in-service environments.
• Advanced OTDR analysis bidirectional traces, event classification, loss budgets, and fault localization.
• Fluency with GIS and fiber management platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design Review & Cut Planning: interpret OSP designs for buildability and risk; prepare splice matrices, cut sheets, and cut plans.
• Execution & Field Support: be the operations contact for field crews during turn-ups, migrations, and cutovers.
• Testing & Troubleshooting: validate field tests and lead fault localization during turn-up.
