Job summary

Silver Star Communications seeks an Outside Plant (OSP) Engineer to independently plan, design, document, estimate, and support construction of OSP telecom infrastructure. You will manage projects from field investigation through design, permitting, construction support, and closeout, ensuring alignment with company standards and project objectives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and 2-4 years of experience.
Strong understanding of OSP engineering and telecom construction methods.
Ability to read, interpret, and produce construction drawings, maps, splice schematics, and engineering docs.
Experience with fiber optic networks and related facilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

Design aerial, buried, and underground OSP facilities for transport, distribution, and customer access networks.
Prepare engineering work orders, construction prints, route plans, splice plans, cut sheets, and cutover documentation.
Engineer fiber transport and distribution systems including fiber, OLTs, splitters, hubs, cabinets, handholes, and duct.
Perform site surveys and field investigations to determine routes and requirements.
