Job summary

Switch is seeking a Senior OSP Engineer to lead fiber infrastructure design for hyperscale data centers. You will supervise external consultants, develop design standards, and guide routing, resiliency, and documentation across complex projects with internal teams, carriers, and contractors.

You will ensure compliance with codes and requirements while advancing cost, speed, quality, and consistency across sites. Remote applicants within registered states are welcome.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; BICSI RCDD, OSP Designer, or equivalent preferred.
• 10+ years of OSP fiber design experience including cabling, pathways, handholes, manholes, and entrance facilities.
• Strong understanding of OSP infrastructure for data centers and large campuses, including carrier connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of OSP fiber infrastructure (cabling, pathways, ducts, handholes, manholes, entrance facilities).
• Supervise external engineering consultants to ensure designs meet standards.
• Develop and maintain OSP design standards, processes, and documentation for hyperscale data centers.
• Develop campus site selection criteria and requirements; maintain testing standards (OLTS, OTDR, power meters).
• Act as SME guiding design decisions, routing, resiliency, and infrastructure strategy.
• Collaborate with internal teams, carriers, vendors, utilities, inspectors, and contractors throughout projects.
• Identify and mitigate risks; conduct site visits for assessments, design reviews, and coordination.
